School surroundings: Vitoria-Gasteiz (240,000 inhabitants) is a comfortable, warm, commercial, administrative and pedestrian-friendly city. Capital of the Basque Autonomous Community, its vast green belt and well-known care for sustainable development offer a high standard of living.
The renovated old Medieval Quarter is shaped like an enormous ellipse packed with beautiful medieval towers and Renaissance mansions. It´s the right place for a stroll and to taste local gastronomy.
Land of contrasts, mountain ranges running from east to west and the Rioja region in the south, where delicious wines and cellars show the culture of vineyards. Historical sites merge with nature (Laguardia, La Hechicera Dolmen,The Salt Pans in Añana, nature reserves, the pilgrims´way to Santiago…).

...AND THIS IS OUR NEW COMENIUS PROJECT.
SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
Schools that have applied to take part in this multilateral project intend to raise students’ awareness of young people living in different countries and about the differences in their culture. One of the objectives of the project is to improve students’ abilities in using ICT resources and foreign languages.
These general objectives will be achieved by our students through different activities that will allow them to explore the general themes of the project ( being young in our countries.). The project is also aimed at helping teachers in their pedagogical efforts to introduce new quality to the teaching/learning process, providing and exchanging informative materials involving elements of culture, civilization and educational systems from the partner countries.
The activities involve:
-gathering informative materials about youth culture in participating countries and sharing the results with the partner institutions;
- preparing materials for an e-magazine in multilingual format;
-carrying out lessons and activities that will improve students’ knowledge about different cultures
-organising a youth conference for the students participating in the project;
-publishing an informative brochure about the results of the project.
The project is also aimed at helping teachers in their pedagogical efforts to introduce new quality to the teaching/learning process
PARTNERS:
JÜRI GÜMNAASIUM, Estonia, is situated about 10 km from Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia. In our school there are 870 students. One of the problems in our community is our identity (many people work in Tallinn so there are very many commuters and students spend a significant amount of time alone as their parents are at work).
We wish to give the students an opportunity to share their everyday life with young people from other countries and we believe that project activities will help students to discover different ways of spending their time usefully.
We would be happy to attach new innovative methods of ITC into school projects. Students’ creativity will be developed using ITC technology. Project activities are connected to school curriculum; they can make lessons more attractive and increase students’ motivation to be involved in their studies as active learners.

SALIH ZEKI ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL is situated in Eskisehir, the middle part of Turkey. The city is very close to the capital, Ankara and the biggest city Istanbul. It is not a big school, the number of the students is 600 and the staff is 50. Before attending our school students have to succeed in entrance exams so they have a big capacity of creative ideas. Our aim for this partnership os that students will have a chance to express their ideas in an intercultural society since they could never have the opportunity to visit Europe nor the other countries. Therefore students will have a project club with the consultant of the teachers so that they could organise the steps and give the decisions during the project. Also the parents' support is important that they will also participate in the project. When activities are finished they will share their experiences with those who do not take part in the project. We are highly interested in international collaboration with the help of the YOUTH.
